Epic Games shows off Paragon, and it looks good.

Dream Child or Mixbreed Runt?

If you’re in the eSports or MOBA scene you would have no doubt heard about Epic Games’ upcoming IP paragon. Now that there’s a bit more news on the game and it has received its first gameplay trailer, it’s clear how the Gears of War developer is bringing their unique style to the MOBA world.

Originally announced on the 3rd of November with little to no real information. We now finally have some more concrete info on the upcoming title, and we’re excited. Showing off the same general play and art styles we’ve come to expect from Epic Games, with a few new flairs, the game looks gorgeous. Adapting the OTS (Over the Shoulder) camera rather than a top down approach like most popular MOBA’s or ARTS’s also makes the game a bit more prominent in a rather large growing market where few games have tried this approach.

Visiting the Paragon website may unlock you some in-game items. Simply click unlock cards at the top and browse through the current line-up of 5 heroes. With the action/OTS set up already being in use by Smite and Monday Night Combat, will it be enough when combined with greater production value to make Paragon a success? We’ll have to wait and see, for now however, we’ll allow ourselves to get just a little excited.

Paragon will apparently start online testing in January, followed by paid early access in spring and open beta in summer 2016. Sign up at the website now if you want a chance to be one of the first in line. No release date has been confirmed as of yet.
